Cheyenne feels that every song on Make Some Noise! is a picture of
her heart, and she relates to each one in some way. The album features
a collection of songs that reflect her life, love, and the relationship
she has with God.
“ I just chose songs that spoke to me. If it was something I could dance
to, I liked it!”
Cheyenne Murdoch Ward grew up in Morton, Texas, and began singing for the public in grade
school. At the age of 14, she sang at her brother’s wedding and saw the
emotion it elicited from her family and friends. She realized music could express
so much more than words.
In college, Cheyenne was not a music major or in a choir. In fact,
she has a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Texas Tech University. She served
Lubbock as ABC Pro Rodeo Queen and won the Speech Award in the Miss Rodeo Texas
contest in 1998. She also dabbled in Hub City entertainment, getting roles in
local productions of South Pacific and The Buddy Holly Story. She has performed
at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming, the Oklahoma Opry, and
Johnnie High’s Country Music Revue. Before graduating from Tech, Cheyenne
took courses from the Commercial Music Program at South Plains College where
she met some of the artists who collaborated on Make Some Noise!
“ God has been working on my heart for quite a while. When I finally started
listening to what He wanted me to do instead of what I thought I should do, things
started to fall into place,” she explains.
“ I just want to be able to touch people through speaking and music,” Cheyenne
says. “God has had His hand on this project from the start. I pray that
He will use it to touch lives and change hearts when words aren’t enough.”
